FdsQuirk

Struct FdsQuirk

Source
pub struct FdsQuirk {
    pub extra_reseek_cycles: u32,
}
Expand description

Per-game FDS timing quirk: a per-CRC drive-timing table derived from puNES’s src/core/fds.c per-CRC drive table (GPL-2.0-or-later). See NOTICE and docs/originality-and-provenance.md (Section 1).

A small, additive set of knobs keyed off the disk-image CRC-32 (see quirk_for_crc). Most titles run on the nominal timing and have no entry; the table exists so a game whose BIOS replay loop needs a different not-ready cadence (typically extra head-seek slack) can be tuned without touching the general transfer engine. All fields are deterministic cycle-count adjustments — never an analog/seek-time model — so the determinism contract holds.

Fields§

§extra_reseek_cycles: u32

Extra CPU cycles added to the head re-seek not-ready window (HEAD_RESEEK_CYCLES) on each motor-restart rewind. Tunes titles whose BIOS replay loop needs the drive to report not-ready a little longer before a re-read.
